PetsetLife - Your Petsitting Toolkit In A World Full of Platforms
No Platform Fees, Amplified Trust Networks
Built a tool that helps digital nomads find pet-sitting gigs through existing social networks—no accounts, no fees, no algorithmic nonsense.
Problem: Pet-sitting platforms became transactional marketplaces with recurring fees and competitive dynamics. But the best opportunities came through personal connections.
Solution: Lightweight web tool that creates shareable "pet-sitting cards" for your social networks. Think LinkedIn profile, but for your pet-sitting availability.
What I Shipped
Multi-step storytelling interface → Guided users through reflection, not data entry
Privacy-first architecture → No accounts, no tracking, no platform lock-in
Ambient sound design → Cat meows and bird chirps for emotional immersion
Mammal-centered dark mode → Because if humans like dark mode, pets probably do too
Growing global community → LinkedIn group + Telegram chat for organic growth
From Paper → AI → Vue in 2 Weeks
1. Paper First
Sketched multi-step flows instead of overwhelming single forms. Discovered storytelling blocks worked better than application forms.
2. AI-Powered Prototyping
Used v0.dev to build 80% functional prototype in one day. Tested flows with real users before writing production code.
3. Custom Vue 3 Build
Rebuilt with Vue 3 + custom CSS design system. Ditched Tailwind for full control over theming and accessibility.
4. Live Testing Loop
Released quietly into Telegram chats and remote work groups. Iterated based on shareability, completion rates, and mobile usage patterns.
Key Insights
Design outside of scale → When you stop asking "how do we grow fast?" and start asking "what do people really need to feel seen?" you build something different.
Mammal-centered design → What if we took pet needs as seriously as user engagement? (Yes, this is a real question I asked.)
Network amplification > Platform replacement → Sometimes the best tool is one that makes existing connections more visible.

What This Shows
- Lean UX methodology with rapid prototyping and live testing
- Technical execution from concept to production Vue.js app
- Product strategy that prioritizes human connection over platform growth
- Design thinking that questions assumptions (human-centered → mammal-centered)
The result: A tool that's not trying to be the next big platform, just a small, powerful way for people to say "I do this. Here's how you can find me."
