Research & Insights
Before we dive in, I dig deep—analyzing data, uncovering pain points, and making sure we solve real problems, not just pretty ones.
I design and build purposeful products—from early concepts to working prototypes—blending design systems, AI, and code. My approach is human-centered, technically informed, and impact-driven.
Design isn't finished until somebody is using it.

From aha-moments to "How Might We" questions, I turn insights into user-tested prototypes—because guessing is for gamblers, not designers.
Design's done? Now the real fun begins—ensuring a smooth launch, tracking insights, and tweaking until users fall in love (or at least don't rage-quit).

I'm Phil Wornath, a European innovation and experience designer with a unique blend of technical and creative skills. Born in Germany, I've lived across Europe—from the Netherlands to Spain—bringing diverse cultural perspectives to my work. I'm passionate about creating technology that serves humanity, not the other way around.
I'm currently an Innovation Designer at Dentsu Creative (Merkle), where I bridge the gap between design and technology. I work on large-scale projects across energy, FMCG, NGOs, mobility, and finance sectors, building multi-brand design systems and rapid AI-assisted prototypes. My role involves collaborating with teams across Europe, from Frankfurt to Barcelona to Belgrade.
My journey began at age 11 when a neighbor introduced me to coding in C#. I built small games—but quickly realized I thrived even more when gathering feedback from people in the building. Since then, I’ve been passionate about bridging tech and people, especially by teaching technology to older generations. I’ve worked as an Online Marketing Manager at Performics, a Product Manager at Deutsche Bahn focusing on rail-bike integration, and as a UX graduate at Toogethr exploring corporate mobility. I hold a Master’s in Data-Driven Design from Utrecht University and a Bachelor’s in Communications & UX Design from The Hague University. I’m also UXQB® and Accessibility Designer certified.
My skill set spans the full spectrum from design to development: UX/UI design, design systems, rapid prototyping, inclusive design, quantitative and qualitative research, frontend/backend development (Vue, Python, PHP, JavaScript), APIs, SQL, and low-code solutions. I'm also experienced with tools like Figma, Penpot, VSCode, and Linux, with a strong focus on FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) principles.
This map shows countries I have lived in and visited. Countries I lived in for 2 or more months are highlighted in a darker color. Countries I visited are shown in a lighter color. Use arrow keys to navigate between countries when a country is selected.
